Who we are

Welcome to Dragonfly Gardens! We’re happy you’ve made it here, we’ve been dreaming of sharing this with you. We’re Justin and Kaytee, the hands and hearts tending to your neighborhood produce in East Austin. We are lucky to be a part of an incubator for upcoming farmers at Boggy Creek Farm. We celebrated our first harvest Fall 2024 and since then have been selling produce at the BCF Market.

Our journey in Regenerative Agriculture started small, with one tomato plant to be exact. A friend gave us a tomato transplant as a house warming gift (thanks Carmen!) and kickstarted Justin’s fascination with growing food in our home garden. Simultaneously, Kaytee was practicing Yoga Therapy and learning more and more about the intersection of food, mental health, and overall wellness. During the pandemic, we took a leap of faith—Justin pursued a Master’s in Regenerative Organic Agriculture and Kaytee dove deep into Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine. We found soil health and our health are more interdependent than we previously imagined. Dragonfly Gardens is our shared vision to cultivate nourishment from soil to soul and share that with our community.

We believe the healthier our soil is, the healthier our produce can be, leading to nutritious and delicious food. This is why we use regenerative practices like cultivating microbial activity, covering the ground, focusing on low intervention, balanced plant nutrition, and biological stimulants. We focus on growing produce for color and flavor that is meant to be eaten within days of picking. We are so grateful to Boggy Creek Farm for supporting us and providing us with rich fertile land to grow on.

You can always get amazing produce at the BCF Market Wednesday - Saturday, 8am - 1pm. Look for the Dragonfly and don’t forget to say hello!
